How Employers Can Ace the Candidate Interview

The post pandemic work environment has continued to change how the hiring process works.  Talent Acquisition agencies have to incorporate the new methods and expectations of the hiring process in order to avoid drop-off of candidates during the process.  Hiring managers and Recruiters have a significant challenge to fill the enormous amount of 10 million+ open positions within the United States (SIA).

Employers Interview

Candidates are turning the tables on potential employers.  Candidates are now interviewing employers to see if they offer the type of job they are looking for.  This is one challenge that recruiters are facing every day.  How do companies set themselves apart?  The answer is adapting to the new work model.

What are some of the new expectations by candidates?

Flexibility

Candidates continue to want the option to be flexible with their work schedules.  This is especially important to the younger generations.  Having the flexibility to create a work schedule around your life means a lot to employees and employers should take this new work model into consideration.

Remote Work Options

Even though more and more employees are returning to the office, remote work is still a vital part of a successful business in today's world.  Of course, not every job is able to be remote, but businesses that can should provide this option to employees.  This benefit goes hand in hand with flexibility.  To have the flexibility to work from home when a child is sick, or when you have a 7 AM meeting will set your company apart from the rest.

Transparency

Employees appreciate transparency from the company they are working for.  They would like to know what is next for the company, where it is headed, their goals, how the employees are performing.  Similarly, if you are a recruiting firm working for an organization, that client appreciates transparency as well.

Modern Work Environment

While dealing with the struggles of staffing and recruiting, it does not help employees if they are using outdated technology.  Employers should offer top of the line technology to attract candidates to their business.  This not only helps with recruiting efforts, but it also helps employees outcomes.  If employees have access to the newest technology, chances are, they are going to be more efficient.

The only way that staffing agencies can set themselves apart technology wise is to invest in the best ATS system for their company.  This will make recruiters more efficient and happier at work.

By following these tips, recruiters will be able to attract more candidates both for their clients and internal hiring.
