Employee-Recruitment Trends To Keep An Eye On In 2020

Remember the phrase “Good, fast, cheap: pick any two”? It’s as true now as it ever was, especially when it comes to the rapidly evolving world if technology in the employee-recruiting space. The hot new thing in hiring may be flashy, but is it right for you?

Technology, especially AI, is remarkable and can be a game-changer, but only if deployed in a way that makes sense for your company’s needs. Here’s a look at some of the latest bells and whistles, and how they can be best deployed:

Interview Chatbots

Hate the process of cold-interviewing applicants, or simply want some help thinning the herd into a few top-tier candidates? AI to the rescue! The deployment of Natural Language Protocol, or NLP, into job applications will likely continue to take hold in the coming months. That’s understandable, given advances in the tech that allow its text conversations to sound more human, and also collect photos, videos and documents that applicants submit. The biggest bonus? This can be used to screen out first-level candidates and set up more advanced interactions with the HR team or other corporate leaders, speeding the hiring process and — hopefully — providing a better pool of candidates from the outset.

Resume Screening Software

Along those same lines, many companies are looking at resume screening software which can complete this chore far more quickly, and with more accuracy when its filters are set for it to know just to look for and to screen out. It also can archive resumes so that when new openings come up, what’s on file can be evaluated once again to see if a candidate passed over for one opportunity might be a good fit for a new one.

External Referrals

Sure, this doesn’t sound very technologically advanced, but there are new ways being rolled out to take advantage of this historically valuable source of good-quality hires. Some use employee’s social connections to connect new employment opportunities with their personal and professional networks, so they can recommend someone with a click.

Maximizing current and future AI technology in the hiring realm will lead to a better, more durable workforce. Given the complexity of what’s coming in terms of technology, however, it’s a daunting task. Need some help sifting through the clutter and seeing what’s best for you? Let’s talk about your specific hiring goals, and what the best route forward, tech-speaking, is right for your operation.
